Star Trek: The Next Generation arrives on Blu-ray for the first time today in a completely remastered, cleaned up, gorgeous format which should please anyone who likes things that look good. So it seems like a good time to celebrate the genius of Picard’s Enterprise with a song.

That’s right, I said a song.

Here it is “The Ballad of Enterprise D”…

The video only actually covers the first four episodes of season 3, but it still seems like a good way to start off TNG Tuesday. Covered in the song are the episodes “Evolution” (the one where Wesley accidentally creates self-aware micro-robots), “The Ensigns of Command” (the one where the Sheliak mess with people), “The Survivors” (the one where the old man invents a fake wife to keep him company), and “Who Watches the Watchers” (the one where a primitive culture worships Picard as a god).

Why those four fairly forgettable episodes? Why not?
