The Twilight phenomenon paved the way for a whole new world of vampires. The successful franchise began in 2008, and went on to have a total of five installments. The franchise was based on the best-selling Twilight novels written by Stephenie Meyer. Breaking Dawn Part 2 was the last of the films, and also finalized the end for the Twilight movie series. However, for die-hard Twilight fans, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It seems that after a long and endless hiatus, Twilight will be coming back to life. Ashley Greene, who played Alice Cullen in the films, has just announced that she will be launching a podcast set to premiere in March of this year.

Although we all thought Twilight had reached its tumultuous end, we no longer have to carry that emptiness in our hearts. Ashley Greene announced that she will be starting a new Twilight re-watch podcast in March. According to Entertainment Weekly, the title of the podcast is The Twilight Effect, and will have a total of 30 episodes. The podcast will include discussions about the films and also juicy behind-the-scenes details. According to the publication, Greene will also have guests appear on the podcast, including past Twilight stars, like Nikki Reed, who played Rosalie Cullen, and Kellan Lutz, who played Emmett Cullen.

The podcast won’t just be interviews and small discussions. Ashley Greene will also be pairing up with Twi-hard fan, Melanie Howe, according to Refinery 29. The two will re-watch all of the films and add detailed commentary as they watch them. According to the publication, Ashley Greene gained the inspiration to start the new podcast due to Twilight resurfacing on streaming sites recently. This led to it regaining a large amount of traction. The actress told EW, “All of a sudden people were talking about this again and I started seeing that some of our OG fans were re-watching but then we had this new slew of fans that were living it for the first time.” And it seems that Twilight will continue to remain in the spotlight for the near future.

Twilight is and always will be a phenomenon that took over the globe with sheer force. The franchise starred not only Ashley Greene, but Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson who have each reached their own individual success. But even though the films garnered a huge success in the box office, days on set with the cast was not always easy. In an interview with People, Ashley Greene opened up about being on set and some of the problems that were faced. “We did this for five years and there was a lot of ups and downs, and some drama, and we were like a family, but also in our 20s, and so there were kind of tiffs here and there.” In the podcast, fans and listeners will get to hear all those details and more as Greene and Howe dive into deep discussions about the franchise.

The Twilight Effect podcast will premiere on March 15th, with new episodes every week. The podcast is a great idea and is almost similar to a small reunion for some of the cast. Fans will have a chance to relive their Twilight days, and will have to contemplate once again if they are Team Edward or Team Jacob. Until then, we have a little time to either read the books once again or binge watch all the films.
