Last we met Temuera Morrison’s green-armored bounty hunter Boba Fett, he was on the path to reclaiming his lost glory in the criminal underworld of the galaxy with Ming-Na Wen’s Fennec Shand by his side. But that was almost a year ago, during the explosive finale of The Mandalorian Season 2. What will Boba be up to next? From the looks of The Book of Boba Fett’s recently debuted teaser trailer, he will be busy fending off a lot of difficulties to establish his complete reign over the Tatooine’s throne.

Check out the short teaser for The Book Of Boba Fett below, (and don’t miss the goosebump-raising “I am Boba Fett” towards the end!).

The Book of Boba Fett trailer features Morrison’s Boba and Ming-Na Wen’s Shand on Tatooine. While the post-credits scene in The Mandalorian Season 2 seemed to establish Boba’s complete control over the planet’s seedy underbelly of the criminal underworld, the trailer establishes that he will have to face many more hurdles to assert his complete dominance. Both Boba and Shand are seen embarking on more missions and meeting up with many people who appear to be the biggest criminals operating out there, including Jennifer Beals as a Twi’lek.

The trailer also features many expansive shots of Tatooine as well as confirms the presence of the iconic Slave-I, Boba Fett’s beloved ship, in The Book of Boba Fett. Fans of The Mandalorian won’t be disappointed as the trailer promises major high octane action sequences including many gunslinging scenes featuring the fearless bounty hunter and his trusted assassin.

Till now, Boba Fett’s journey in the Star Wars universe has been rather bumpy. His last cinematic appearance was in Star War: Episode IV- Return of the Jedi, where he got hit by a blinded Han Solo and fell into the Pit of Carkoon, seemingly dying. But in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Boba made a splashing comeback along with Fennec Shand and joined forces with Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin against the evil Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) to free Baby Grogu. The Book of Boba Fett will continue his story forward, which took off in a different direction in the post-credits scene in the finale.

The post-credits scene saw Boba’s return to Jabba Hutt’s palace along with Shand. The duo effortlessly dispatched his guards and killed Bib Fortuna, Jabba’s majordomo prior to his death. While Boba is now sitting on the throne, he will first have to deal with the unruly crime world of the planet which has gotten out of control since the downfall of the Galactic Empire. Hopefully, The Book of Boba Fett will also answer pressing questions about its titular character’s past like how he survived the deadly Sarlacc Pit, why he never got his armor back from Cobb Vanth, how he managed to live on Tatooine undetected, etc.

The Book of Boba Fett will be directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Rodriguez, Jon Favreau, and Dave Filoni. Favreau, Filoni, Rodriguez, are also on board as executive producers along with Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson. Given the fact that the events in the show exist in the same universe and timeline as that of The Mandalorian, only its debut on Disney Plus on December 29 will confirm whether Boba will be crossing paths with his fellow bounty hunter. While they have become friends of sorts after joining hands against Gideon, it remains to be seen how the dynamics of their relationship will change now that Boba is ruling the heart of the galaxy’s criminal underworld.
