Over the decades, Bruce Willis has starred in an intimidating amount of high-grossing, and iconic movies that we’re all so grateful for. But due to his dementia diagnosis, the 68-year-old actor has retired from acting, and is living under the care of his family, probably indefinitely. According to World of Reel, Quentin Tarantino would still love to work with Willis one last time as he gears up to direct his tenth and final film, The Movie Critic.

Quentin Tarantino says he wants to work with Bruce Willis one more time.

Almost 30 years after the release of Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction, people are still talking about the film, and rightfully so. Though we don’t want to gloss over the power-house performances presented to us by John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson, it’s worth noting that Bruce Willis’ Butch character truly carried the story, and in many ways kept the film firmly grounded in reality despite Pulp Fiction’s overall surreal and subversive nature.

Even though Bruce Willis had considerably less screen-time than both Travolta and Jackson, it’s safe to say that the Pulp Fiction that we know and love wouldn’t exist without this particular partnership between Quentin Tarantino and Bruce Willis.

And it seems like Quentin Tarantino, who has stayed in touch with Bruce Willis for all these years, recognizes how iconic Butch’s character was, and how important the Sixth Sense actor’s contribution to Pulp Fiction was for his career during this time.

Bruce Willis’ Butch character truly carried the story, and in many ways kept the film firmly grounded in reality despite Pulp Fiction’s overall surreal and subversive nature.

The unfortunate reality, however, is that we don’t truly know the gravity of Bruce Willis’ health issues, as his family is making statements on his behalf. With this fact in mind, we could reasonably assume that Bruce Willis may not be in the right state of health to make an appearance in The Movie Critic, even if he wanted to.

Though Quentin Tarantino would love nothing more than to pay tribute to the legendary Bruce Willis with his final film, sources have indicated that he hasn’t yet asked Willis’ family about whether or not he’d be up to perform under his direction one last time. But it doesn’t seem like Tarantino will push too hard to have a Bruce Willis cameo out of respect for the actor and his family.

If it turns out that Bruce Willis’ health will not allow him to accept the offer, the Reservoir Dogs director will, at the very least, try to work a clip from one of Willis’ previous movies into the film to pay proper tribute.

Considering that all we know about Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film is that it will be set in the 1970s, we’re wondering how he’ll be able to pull off using archival footage featuring Bruce Willis, who started his acting career in the 1980s. But we probably won’t have to worry too much because Tarantino has a tendency to brazenly defy the rules of filmmaking through his unique brand of non-linear storytelling.

If it turns out that Bruce Willis’ health will not allow him to accept the offer, the Reservoir Dogs director will at the very least try to work a clip from one of Willis’ previous movies into the film to pay proper tribute.

We have faith that he’ll be able to work something into The Movie Critic that will not only be expertly placed but also allow him to pay tribute to Bruce Willis’ legacy in a way that’s truly iconic if he finds a way to work it into the film.
