After winning her first Academy Award last year for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, Jamie Lee Curtis felt ready to take on the world. And, while she’s reprised the role of Laurie Strode time and time again for the Halloween franchise, now fans want to see her re-team with Lindsay Lohan in a Freaky Friday sequel.

The star made comments surrounding her willingness to do the film and, during a recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show , Curtis’ Freaky Friday co-star, Mark Harmon, said that there’s a good chance the film could come to fruition.

Chatting with Clarkson on Monday’s episode, Mark Harmon and the host gushed over the talent of Jamie Lee Curtis before the actor revealed why he thought a Freaky Friday sequel was just around the corner. As Harmon put it, “If [Jamie Lee Curtis is] talking about it, then it’ll happen, because all things happen.” Mentioning that he’s known the star since she was 15 years old, Harmon insinuated that her drive to bring projects to life was exactly what a Freaky Friday sequel needed to get up and running.

Jamie Lee Curtis And Lindsay Lohan On Board

As we mentioned, Jamie Lee Curtis has never kept her hope for a Freaky Friday sequel on the down low, mentioning it time and time again with the most recent being via an Instagram post to share a heartfelt reunion between her and Lindsay Lohan. While back in the spring, it seemed like the next installment of the Freaky Friday story was up and running, the writers’ strike slowed things down.

But, as Curtis mentioned in her social media post, both the actors’ and writers’ strikes are over, and with Lohan, Curtis, and Mark Harmon on board, hopefully, the production will be able to take off.

Summer School

Mark Harmon has been seeing a blast from his own past as of late with the 1987 film Summer School making its way back into the limelight. The Carl Reiner (The Man with Two Brains) directed feature was a cult classic that flipped the script on students being over their classes and, instead, put the boredom on teachers. The film follows Harmon’s Freddy Shoop, a gym teacher who’s longing for the summer but needs to stay around over the holiday for summer school lest he wants to lose his tenure.

NCIS

Beyond Summer School, Mark Harmon is the incredibly recognizable face of the crime procedural favorite, NCIS. For almost two decades, Harmon starred as SSA Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a role that he’s returned to in cameo appearances over the last few years. It was at the beginning of his run on NCIS that he landed the role in Freaky Friday.

Mark Harmon’s Character In Freaky Friday

In Freaky Friday, Mark Harmon appeared as Ryan Volvo, the fiancee of Jamie Lee Curtis’ Tess Coleman. Throughout the story, Lindsay Lohan’s character, Anna, has trouble accepting the couple’s relationship as her father passed away a few years earlier. Because things ended on a happy note for Ryan and Tess, we would expect to see Harmon in Freaky Friday 2 should it continue to move forward.

In the meantime, we’ll stick with Mark Harmon and put the fate of Freaky Friday 2 in the hands of Jamie Lee Curtis because she knows how to get things done.
