The new Justin Timberlake Netflix movie Reptile just unveiled its trailer, and it looks like the perfect fall film for murder mystery lovers. The film stars Benicio del Toro as a hardboiled detective who is investigating the recent murder of a real estate agent. One of the primary suspects is her boyfriend, Will, played by Timberlake.

Netflix has released the trailer for Reptile, starring Justin Timberlake, Benicio del Toro, Alicia Silverstone, Eric Bogosian, and more.

Of course, Justin Timberlake’s character won’t be the only suspect, as the trailer highlights the victim’s best friend (Sky Ferreira), the victim’s ex-husband (Karl Glusman), and the “weirdo” (Michael Pitt).

The Netflix movie will undoubtedly keep you guessing as to who the real culprit is, so it should be a fun one to watch if you like solving the case before the film makes the big reveal. Plus, you can never go wrong with a Benicio del Toro performance.

Reptile is the feature film directorial debut of Grant Singer, who also co-wrote the film with Benjamin Brewer and Benicio del Toro.

Along with Benicio del Toro and Justin Timberlake, the cast also includes Alicia Silverstone, who last shared the screen with del Toro in the 1997 film Excess Baggage. The rest of the cast of the Netflix film is rounded out by Ato Essandoh, Frances Fisher, Eric Bogosian, Domenick Lombardozzi, Matilda Lutz, Owen Teague, Catherine Dyer, Mike Pniewski, Thad Luckinbill, James Devoti, and Michael Beasley.

Before the del Toro and Justin Timberlake-starring film hits Netflix on October 6, it will be premiering at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival on September 7. The film definitely seems to have some spooky autumnal vibes, so an October release date seems especially fitting.

Justin Timberlake’s Future

While Justin Timberlake is keeping his acting career going strong with this Netflix film, amongst other projects, fans of his music likely won’t have to wait too much longer until his next album. In May of this year, superproducer and frequent Timberlake collaborator Timbaland announced that Timberlake’s next studio album was done.

He also said that the two of them were bringing back the sound of their FutureSex/LoveSounds album. This return to form should please fans who weren’t happy with Timberlake’s most recent Man of the Woods album.

It has been a while since Justin Timberlake has had a major role in a film, Netflix or otherwise, as the last time he starred in something was in 2021 in the film Palmer and the TV movie Trolls Holiday in Harmony, where he reprised his role as Branch.

However, 2023 seems like it’ll be a good comeback for him, as he stars in Reptile and he reprises his role in the Trolls franchise yet again. Before the end of the year, we’ll see Timberlake in the upcoming Trolls Band Together, which is set for a November 17 release date.

Trolls Band Together looks to focus heavily on Justin Timberlake’s character and bring him back to his N’Sync roots, as Anna Kendrick’s Poppy learns Branch was once in a boy band with his brothers called BroZone. The cast will be rounded out by Zooey Deschanel, Daveed Diggs, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kunal Nayyar, Eric Andre, Troye Sivan, Kid Cudi, Amy Schumer, Zosia Mamet, Andrew Rannells, Kenan Thompson, RuPaul, Anderson Paak, Ron Funches, and Camila Cabello.

Remember to check out his Netflix film Reptile when it hits the streamer in October.
