Jeff Goldblum Is Zeus In Netflix KAOS First Look And Now We Can’t Wait

It’s Jeff Goldblum, and it’s as if you have never seen him before. The actor takes on the role of Zeus, the king of all the gods on Mount Olympus, in a contemporary take on Greek myth. KAOS has already debuted in the UK, but Netflix isn’t giving us a date for the show to drop in the US, so we’ll just have to watch the First Look over and over until that day arrives. It won’t be long since it’s expected later this year.

In the brief First Look for KAOS, Jeff Goldblum is a tracksuit-wearing Zeus, although there is a massive, golden statue of him where he is wearing the more traditional toga and holding a lightning bolt. One day, Zeus wakes up to find a wrinkle on his forehead, which he thinks is the harbinger of an ancient prophecy foretelling his destruction. As he becomes more and more paranoid, his fellow gods grow more careless and kind of just don’t care.

Jeff Goldblum’s Zeus is right to be worried about his power and control.

Audiences get to see an intimidating, sunglasses-wearing Goldblum looking down at someone and saying, “Honor me. That’s a command, not a request.” This is a much more serious side of the actor than we’re used to seeing.

Jeff Goldblum as Zeus in KAOS

Jeff Goldblum’s Zeus is right to be worried about his power and control. That’s because Prometheus is putting together a plan to bring him down. In Greek mythology, Prometheus is best known for defying the Olympian gods by stealing fire from them and giving it to humanity in the form of technology and knowledge. He’s known for being a champion of humankind, which is not something Zeus is into.

According to industry reports, Jeff Goldblum replaced Hugh Grant as Zeus.

In addition to Jeff Goldblum, the cast includes David Thewlis (Fargo) as Hades, Janet McTeer (Ozark) as Hera, Cliff Curtis (Avatar: The Way of Water) as Poseidon, and Debi Mazar (Entourage) as Medusa. KAOS comes from creator Charlie Covell, who wrote the acclaimed British black comedy TV show The End Of The F***ing World. The producers behind KAOS were also behind the HBO hit Chernobyl.

According to industry reports, Jeff Goldblum replaced Hugh Grant as Zeus. Grant reportedly had to drop out due to scheduling concerns. There’s a lot of buzz around KAOS, and it’s actually been building for a long time—since 2018, when the show was originally announced by Netflix.

As for Jeff Goldblum and KAOS, its premiere season is expected sometime this year on Netflix.

KAOS is just the latest in a long string of Hollywood projects on Greek mythology. Take, for instance, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. In the successful Disney+ show, Zeus accuses the demigod Percy Jackson of stealing his thunderbolt. The show has been renewed for a second season.

As for Jeff Goldblum and KAOS, its premiere season is expected sometime this year on Netflix.

Jeff Goldblum is someone who seems to always be in the public eye one way or another. He went viral at the Super Bowl when he was shown on the jumbotron, ecstatically reacting to being on camera and waving with a big smile. He then gave a thumbs-up and made a heart with his hands, Taylor Swift-style.

However, in KAOS, audiences will see a much more threatening side to the happy-go-lucky actor. We can’t wait.
