Netflix has a wide array of original content for its millions of subscribers to view, with many new shows slated to premiere in 2024 and beyond now that the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes have finally come to a close. One new series, No Good Deed, is being developed by Liz Feldman, who previously created the Netflix original series Dead To Me. Per a recent report in Deadline, No Good Deed is set to star Friends alumnus Lisa Kudrow, who famously portrayed Phoebe Buffay in the long-running NBC sitcom.

Lisa Kudrow And The Cast Of No Good Deed

Lisa Kudrow will be joining a stacked cast of heavy-hitters in the new series, including Everybody Loves Raymond‘s Ray Romano, Linda Cardellini, Abbi Jacobson, Teyonah Parris, Poppy Liu, and Luke Wilson. The series is set to be a limited outing, with only eight episodes planned at this time. Of course, some Netflix series slated as limited releases have been known to expand into full multi-season shows, depending on the fan reception and ratings of the opening season.

Dead To Me’s Cancellation

The classification of No Good Deed as a limited series is likely a precautionary measure, as Liz Feldman’s previous collaboration with the streamer, Dead To Me, was unexpectedly canceled after three seasons. Despite a great deal of fanfare, Dead To Me ended on a massive unresolved cliffhanger, leaving fans of the show cautiously optimistic about the upcoming outing. Still, the addition of Lisa Kudrow and her other talented co-stars instills a great deal of faith in prospective fans, suggesting the series will be a massive hit.

What Is No Good Deed About?

Per Deadline, No Good Deed is set to follow three dysfunctional families who each attempt to purchase a 1920s Spanish-style villa. Believing the property will serve as a miracle cure for all their worldly ills, the families compete against one another to secure it, with disastrous consequences for everyone involved. Lisa Kudrow is expected to play a character named Lydia Morgan in the series, alongside the character’s husband Paul, portrayed by Ray Romano.

Lisa Kudrow As Lydia Morgan

Lisa Kudrow’s character in the series is said to be a former concert pianist who exhibits a great deal of talent despite her troubling diagnosis of a social anxiety disorder. The Morgan family will also include two children, though there have been no official casting announcements of the child actors at this time. Lydia Morgan is said to be driven in the series by the decision to escape her Los Feliz home, which harbors dark and terrifying secrets about the family’s past. The project serves as one of several upcoming productions starring the former Friends star.

Lisa Kudrow’s Upcoming Projects

In addition to her leading role in No Good Deed, Lisa Kudrow is also expected to appear in an adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s 1981 film, Time Bandits, which she is also directing and producing. Kudrow will also appear alongside Succession‘s Brian Cox in the upcoming horror comedy The Parenting. Since the conclusion of Friends in 2004, Lisa Kudrow has been consistently working, amassing nearly 100 unique acting credits on IMDb, while branching out into a number of behind-the-camera roles.
