Elizabeth Olsen has made her mark on the Marvel Universe and it’s been set up for her to now be one of the primary characters throughout this phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And over the years, we’ve seen her looked change more dramatically than any other character out there. That’s what will happen coming off a television series that saw her change and shift with nearly every episode. And now it looks like her style is set to change again. A recent (possible) leak of concept art showed up on Reddit under /MarvelStudiosSpoilers and then again on Twitter from @avengersavenue giving the Scarlet Witch an updated style.

The new art and possible costume was part of a larger group of visuals and possible updates to a number of different characters. Apparently (and this is just a rumor) is that this batch came from a toy company that could be working to create action figures for this phase of Marvel characters, specifically those in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. If that was the case then we would be seeing Elizabeth Olsen going with a darker outfit, with much more black than we’ve seen in the past. If you look at the above post, her character is in the top row, two from the right. She’s standing with Benedict Wong’s Wong character.

When we last left Elizabeth Olsen at the end of WandaVision’s first season, she had made the transformation to the Scarlet Witch replete with the crown and longer cape that comes with the character. How her character shifted over the course of the show is setting up to possibly have her be the primary antagonist when it comes to Doctor Strange and Multiverse of Madness. This latest concept art if apparently related to that movie’s release signifying maybe even another change in outfit before things are all said and done.

This latest look would have Elizabeth Olsen embracing a blacker outfit than we’ve seen before with the studio often opting for a much redder hue (sometimes an even comically silly one). There is still the maroon red throughout the breastplate, but the sleeves and pants are black throughout. It also looks like the cape is gone replaced back with the longer jacket style we’d seen for the character in the past.

This Marvel Phase Four is setting up to be a massive, franchise-altering set of stories that could pit previous heroes against each other. In addition to all of the new stories and characters, a couple of movies are setting up to be huge ensemble productions that will set the course for the franchise as a whole. Those two movies are Spider-Man: No Way Home and the aforementioned Doctor Strange and Multiverse of Madness. It’s this latter movie that could pit the good doctor against Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch. This latest look at her outfit does suggest she’s taking a continued darker turn.

We should get to see this go down around this time a year from now. The film is set to release on March 25, 2022, and could be an absolute event. In the meantime, we can dream on the new Elizabeth Olsen style and what it means for her character.
