ScarJo fans on Twitter rejoiced after a new series of snaps surfaced of the Oscar-nominated actress in New York City this week in a sexy, revealing black suit. Scarlett Johansson’s appearance in the Big Apple comes only days after a number of big news items have dropped about the Lost in Translation star’s past projects, including her future with Marvel Studios.

While it remains to be seen whether or not she will be involved, news dropped earlier this week that a spinoff series was in the works based on the 2014 Luc Besson film Lucy, in which Scarlett Johansson plays a drug mule who is force fed synthetic drugs and afterward develops powerful abilities. Morgan Freeman, who appeared in the film, is in talks to appear in the spinoff.

Around the same time here at Giant Freakin Robot, we exclusively reported that Scarlett Johansson was working on a new Marvel Studios project but behind the camera this time. Our sources told us that ScarJo is producing an upcoming Black Widows series (note that “s” at the end) for Disney+ which will feature an entire team of the deadly operatives. We don’t know if Johansson will reprise her role of Natasha Romanoff, or if her Black Widow co-star Florence Pugh will appear in the series as Yelena, her adoptive sister.

She may be in New York City this week, but Scarlett Johansson also has some pretty serious business to attend to down south. In spite of her increased time behind the camera, she’s still getting in front of it, including in Greg Berlanti’s feature directorial debut Project Artemis. A lot of plot details haven’t been released, though we know the film will be set during the 1960s Space Race between the U.S. and the Soviet Union.

Along with Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum (Magic Mike) and Jim Rash (Community) will star in the film. On Halloween Deadline reported that Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond) had been cast in the film as well. Apple Studios will be releasing the film.

As far as her future production credits are concerned, beside the Black Widows series, Scarlett Johansson surprised everyone when–after her public legal battle with Disney over Black Widow‘s release–she returned to Disney to produce the upcoming Tower of Terror. She’s also reportedly attached to produce an upcoming Marvel Studios project that is completely unrelated to Black Widow.

Since recent allegations and unflattering stories about Bill Murray’s on-set behavior have come to light, Scarlett Johansson hasn’t been very vocal about her own experience in her breakthrough role in 2003’s Lost in Translation. Regardless, some stories have resurfaced including Johansson saying on Howard Stern (via FandomWire) that the film was a “hard shoot” for her because she felt isolated as “everybody was so deferential to “[Murray].”
