Kate Beckinsale is convinced that Ryan Reynolds is her doppelganger. The actress made the revelation during a 2019 appearance on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The interview recently resurfaced when the late-night show shared a snippet on social media. She even admitted to doing a double-take when she sees photos of the Deadpool star.

“I look exactly like Ryan Reynolds. Like in a shocking way,” Kate Beckinsale said. Like, when sometimes I see a bus going by with a poster on it, I think, ‘Damn, I look hot. Oh, wait, that’s not me. Also, I’ve never done that movie.” When asked if they had ever met, the Underworld actress said she couldn’t be in the same room as him because one of them would “explode or something.”

Ryan Reynolds eventually responded to Kate Beckinsale’s revelation on the Today show. When presented with a clip of the actress, he said, “It is like looking in a mirror. I mean, I was gonna wear that today.” He also admitted that people have pointed out the similarities before. “This has been something I’ve heard for a long time,” he added.

More recently, Kate Beckinsale made headlines for her fashion choices at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. Interestingly, attending the event brought back memories of her first time at the glamorous soiree in 1993, when things didn’t go as smoothly. Taking to Instagram, the actress shared details about how her co-stars helped her avert a complete fashion disaster.

The fashion mishap happened just before the premiere of Kenneth Branagh’s Shakespeare adaptation, Much Ado About Nothing. Kate Beckinsale had purchased a bodysuit from the Sock Shop at the airport, but as she got into the car, the poppers in the bodysuit’s crotch unexpectedly opened. However, she felt uncomfortable addressing the issue with everyone in the vehicle and quietly panicked instead.

As she stepped onto the grandest red carpet of her life, Kate Beckinsale confided in co-stars Keanu Reeves and Robert Sean Leonard, who helped her navigate the crisis. “In this picture, I am holding the front gusset down, and the two of them are holding the back gusset,” she wrote in the caption. The actress expressed her gratitude, calling them “absolute legends.”

Meanwhile, Kate Beckinsale has a few notable movies that fans can enjoy. She appears as Christiana Dior in the satirical comedy Fool’s Paradise, written and directed by Charlie Day. The film revolves around a publicist who stumbles upon a mute man who bears an uncanny resemblance to an actor unwilling to leave his trailer.

However, there’s a twist – the lookalike was recently discharged from a mental health facility. The star-studded cast of Fool’s Paradise includes Kate Beckinsale, Adrien Brody, Jason Sudeikis, Jason Bateman, John Malkovich, Ray Liotta, and more, with Charlie Day taking the lead. The movie was released theatrically by Roadside Attractions on May 12.

Kate Beckinsale will also portray Avery Graves in the upcoming action-thriller film Canary Black. Directed by Pierre Morel and written by Matthew Kennedy, the movie follows the story of a CIA agent whose husband is kidnapped by terrorists. The terrorists attempt to extract valuable information from her through blackmail.
