Popular Disneyland ride Radiator Springs Racers will soon close indefinitely. According to InsideTheMagic, the Disney ride will close on January 17, 2023, with no clear timeline for reopening. The Cars-themed attraction is a favorite with Pixar fans for its family-friendly thrills and breathtaking visuals. Unfortunately, little information has been released so far beyond the closure date.

Families love Radiator Springs Racers for its thrilling speed and nostalgic references to a beloved property. So if you’re planning a trip to Disneyland soon, you’ll want to take a farewell spin before the track is closed. It’s unclear when the Disney ride will reopen, but its closing date was published in a calendar on the park’s website.

Passengers on this Disney ride are swept off on an exciting tour through Ornament valley, the fictional location inspired by the red rocks of the American southwest. Riders enjoy formations created by talented Imagineers that transport them to another world. After the valley’s beauty, the ride continues to the town of Radiator Springs.

Once in town, fans are treated to pre-race pep talks from familiar Cars characters like Tow-mater, Doc Hudson, Guido, Lightening McQueen, Sally Luigi, Mack, and Ramone. These fan favorites cheer you on, give expert advice, and provide insight into the world of competitive racing. Riders can visit Luigi’s Casa Della Tires or Ramone’s House of Body Art before hitting the streets for a thrilling race.

At the starting line, racers meet the competition before being swept off on a high-speed race across a beautiful desert track. Whip around corners fly over hills, and speed through straightaways past red rock formations and desert vistas. Everyone is a winner at the end of this fun run, no matter whose car comes in first.

Kids and adults love this playful thrill ride reminiscent of the Test Track at EPCOT. This Disney ride is part of the larger Cars Land section of the park, which features rides, character experiences, and Cars souvenirs. Lovers of Pixar films can get lost in the story as they wander and explore.

Disneyland’s calendar is only published through January 22, 2023, and the entry regarding Radiator Springs Racers has little information. It’s unclear if the ride is closing for regular maintenance, upgrades, or something else. Fans of this beloved Disney ride will have to keep an eye out for updates on the closure and possible reopening dates.

It’s not uncommon for rides to close for routine maintenance. Parks do their best to prepare guests for planned or anticipated closures. Less frequently, features and functions of a Disney ride may be upgraded or enhanced. Planned maintenance is often accompanied by a scheduled reopening date, but that’s not always the case.

It may be tempting to assume the park is doing more than a scheduled repair because no reopening date or information has been announced, but there aren’t enough facts to be sure. Ultimately, the Disney ride will be closed for at least five days, and we may have to wait until at least January 22, 2023, at the earliest, to find out more.
