  • SUMMARY
  • An undercover officer dressed as a Care Bear led a successful drug bust in Peru.
  • Pretending to drop off a Valentine’s Day gift, the Care Bear officer lured the suspect out of her house.
  • Officers discovered 1500 pounds of cocaine paste.
  • Police in Peru previously dressed up as Santa Claus for a similar bust.

If you’ve never seen a Care Bear cop perform a drug bust, then you don’t know what you’re missing. On February 13, a police officer in Lima, Peru dressed up like a giant teddy bear delivering a Valentine’s Day gift to a woman who was suspected of dealing drugs out of her residence. Brandishing flowers and chocolates, the Care Bear cop lured the woman out of the house and tackled her to the ground before taking off his mask and revealing that the only gift he had to offer was the gift of swift and efficient justice.

After apprehending the woman, the Care Bear cop and his team had their suspicions confirmed when they found over 1,500 portions of cocaine paste bagged up and ready for distribution. Cocaine paste has become quite popular in Latin American countries, and it’s typically smoked after being rolled into tobacco or cannabis cigarettes. But if Care Bear cop has to say anything about it, cocaine paste will be a lot harder to come across in Peru thanks to his decisive action and ability to think on his paws.

This just goes to show you that there is no better way to take down criminals than by using the element of surprise.

We’re not trying to harsh anybody’s buzz here, but if you find yourself having a little too much fun on the weekend, and you see a Care Bear approaching your residence or vehicle, it’s probably in your best interest to comply with the law and plead the Fifth because it might be a cop. You could probably run for it if you’re feeling lucky, but we wouldn’t recommend it. Though Care Bears are known to affectionately hug it out, the firm hug of the law is a far cry from a pleasant experience.

After apprehending the woman, the Care Bear cop and his team had their suspicions confirmed when they found over 1,500 portions of cocaine paste bagged up and ready for distribution.

This isn’t the first time that police in Peru have used fun disguises to take down suspected drug dealers. Care Bear cop is a new and worthy addition to the force, but he doesn’t work alone. Just last Christmas, a similar drug bust was carried out, but instead of dressing like a bear, the officer on duty showed up to the scene in a full Santa Claus getup.

This just goes to show you that there is no better way to take down criminals than by using the element of surprise. Now that the concept of a Care Bear cop has been proven to be a success, there’s no telling what kind of mascots and costumes will be used to fight crime in the future. Though we’re just speculating here, we’d imagine that rowdy fans at a Philadelphia Flyers game would think twice about getting into trouble if there was a high probability of getting drop-kicked into the stands by Gritty when they least suspected it.

Care Bear cop isn’t the first time that Peruvian police have done this, a similar Santa Claus bust took place around Christmas.

Cloudco Entertainment may not realize it, but they’re potentially sitting on an absolute goldmine of a merchandising opportunity. If they can capitalize on the Care Bear cop idea and franchise it out, they could very well give the Marvel Cinematic Universe a run for its money. We’re just spitballing here, but Care Bear Cop: Fuzzy Justice has a nice ring to it.
