Bob Saget’s Death Lead To Two Police Officers Being Suspended
Two Sheriff's deputies have been suspended without pay after they had been investigated and found to have leaked details regarding the death of Bob Saget.
It must have been devastating to the family of Bob Saget to have to hear about his untimely death. Even worse is having to see his death plastered all over social media without being alerted by the proper authorities first. That is exactly what happened with two Sheriff deputies who had been on the scene. Apparently, two Florida Sheriffs’ deputies have now been suspended for 81 hours without pay after leaking the details of Saget’s death before his family had been properly notified. That must be a horrible way to find out that someone you loved had passed away. Also, 81 hours doesn’t seem like enough time for such a blunder.
One of the deputies had told his brother of Bob Saget’s passing away, which was then posted on social media by the brother. The other deputy had told one of his neighbors of what transpired. According to Orange County Sheriff John Mina, “This case highlights how important it is to allow detectives in death investigations the time to ensure next of kin notifications are made before that information is disseminated to the public.” The statement has also read the two deputies are aware of their wrongdoing and have fully accepted their punishments. That might be what they are made to say, but truly, this was a horrible event that should have not transpired.
Bob Saget passed away unexpectedly on January 9th, 2022. He had checked into a hotel room after doing a stand-up comedy show but failed to check in with his wife the following day. This led to staff being asked to check on him, where they found the man dead in his hotel room. An autopsy report stated that he died from a hit to the back of the head, meaning he might have knocked his head on something and died from the injuries sustained from that hit. The details of his death and the case had been permanently sealed in March of 2022. This was because of a lawsuit enacted by Kelly Rizzo, Bob’s widow, and Saget’s three daughters. This might have to do with the details of his death being leaked to the public.

Through his years in Full House, America’s Funniest Home Videos, and his stand-up career, the man was truly loved.
His death being leaked to the public is horrible, and we hope that his wife and daughters can find some sort of solace from the droves of people voicing their love for the man. We also hope that it never happens again, for anyone. No family should have to hear about their loved ones passing away on social media, on the news, or through some other way of entertainment.
