As screenwriter Danny Strong begins work on the second part of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, pre-production will start soon on part one. While The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is eight months away, director Francis Lawrence is busy at work trying to get all three movies in theaters by their appointed release dates. It looks like there’s a bit of casting news coming out of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay camp already.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Australian actress and writer Rebel Wilson reveals that she may have a role in the first part of The Hunger Games finale. When she was asked about the movie, Wilson responded:

“Um, seriously, I have had a meeting about being in The Hunger Games. Yes.” She continued, “[T]here aren’t a lot of roles open, because they’ve all already been cast, but that would be awesome,” she said. “I’d love to be in The Hunger Games.”

SPOILERS FOR THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY AHEAD — READ WITH CAUTION!

While she didn’t say who she would be playing in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, there are rumors that she would play Fulvia Cardew, the assistant to Plutarch Heavensbee (Philip Seymour Hoffman), the new Head Gamemaker of The Hunger Games. She works with Plutarch Heavensbee as part of the rebellion against the Capitol and President Snow (Donald Sutherland). Either way, Rebel Wilson would make a fine addition to The Hunger Games cast.

Rebel Wilson seemed to come out of nowhere to gain popularity in the U.S. so quickly. She appeared as Kristen Wiig’s strange roommate in the comedy Bridesmaids in 2011. She would later be featured in another bridesmaids-centric comedy last year’s The Bachelorette. She gained critical and commercial success in the movie Pitch Perfect later in 2012.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will hit theaters everywhere on November 22nd. Mockingjay – Part 1 will open on November 21, 2014, and Part 2 on November 20, 2015. All three films will be presented in IMAX.
