Epic Star Wars Fights Imagined As Scenes From Mega Man

Mega Man was a good time. Admittedly, that was also the last generation of video games I paid much attention to (I don’t have the manual dexterity for controllers with more than two buttons), and it holds a special, nostalgic place in my heart. So of course you have my attention when you mash that particular property together with iconic moments from the Star Wars universe.
And that’s exactly what artist Ty Lettau does with these pictures. He takes memorable pieces from various Star Wars movies and envisions them as boss levels from the original installment of Capcom’s venerable franchise. The heavily pixilated images will tug at the wistful side of your psyche. Hell, it may even make you dig through those mildew-covered cardboard boxes in the garage in search of your old Nintendo Entertainment System. Maybe it still works.
There are some fun bits in this collection. You have Han Solo facing off against Greedo up above. There’s the battle between young Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Darth Maul from Phantom Menace. And no collection of Star Wars art can be complete without at least a cameo from Chewbacca.
There are some glaring omissions, however. There’s no Darth Vader, no Luke Skywalker, not even a slave Leia to be found. And where’s Boba Fett? The Mandalorian bounty hunter is a staple of Star Wars fan art. You may also notice a woeful lack of Dr. Wily.
Still, these pictures are a damn fine time, what with the boxy characters, oversized heads, and giant, bulbous eyeballs.
