Star Wars Rebels’ Inquisitor Takes The Stage: This Week’s TV Picks

The budding Rebellion is still only in its infancy on Disney’s Star Wars Rebels, but things are about to get a lot more complicated for them. In tonight’s episode, “Rise of the Old Masters,” Kanan and the crew of the Ghost attempt a rescue mission after learning that Jedi Master Luminara Unduli is still alive and in captivity. Unfortunately, that rescue mission doubles as a trap for the young rebels, courtesy of an enemy they’ll be meeting face to face for the first time: the Inquisitor.
“Rise of the Old Masters” looks to all be leading up to a good old-fashioned lightsaber fight between Kanan and his bald, pasty foe…something of a rarity in the Rebels era, when most of the Force users have been killed or driven into hiding. Plus, the Inquisitor’s double-bladed lightsaber has been seriously pimped out. Why is it that the bad guys always seem to be driving the frontiers of lightsaber development? Then again, maybe the Sith are just overcompensating.
“Rise of the Old Masters” premieres tonight at 9/8c on Disney XD. And just for fun, here’s the Inquisitor taking his child-murdering marching orders from Darth Vader himself.

Dark Skies (TMC, 8/7c)
From the producer of Paranormal Activity, Insidious, and Sinister comes Dark Skies: A supernatural thriller that follows a young family living in the suburbs. As husband and wife Daniel (Josh Hamilton) and Lacy Barrett (Keri Russell) witness an escalating series of disturbing events involving their family, their safe and peaceful home quickly unravels. When it becomes clear that the Barrett family is being targeted by an unimaginably terrifying and deadly force, Daniel and Lacy take matters in their own hands to solve the mystery of what is after their family.
Face Off (Syfy, 9/8c) — “One Knight Only”
A knight challenge determines the winner of Season 7.
The Flash (The CW, 8/7c) — “Going Rogue”
The Flash battles Captain Cold after the villain is involved in a robbery and plots to steal the Kahndaq Dynasty Diamond. The evil plans get a boost when the Captain gets his hands on a stolen ‘cold gun’ that could kill the Flash.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC, 9/8c) — “A Fractured House”
Hydra attacks the United Nations and frames the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents for the crime. Meanwhile, the team faces an unexpected enemy.
Person of Interest (CBS, 10/9c) — “Pretenders”
A mild-mannered office worker gets into major trouble while posing as a detective. Meanwhile, Finch’s cover profession takes him to Hong Kong.
Town of the Living Dead (Syfy, 10/9c) — “Zombie Stunt Double / Zombies With a Chance of Fire”
A dangerous stunt scene proves tricky given Chase’s fear of heights and his overprotective mother. Off the set, Bryan sets Terry up on an awkward blind date.
When the team have trouble figuring out how to light a zombie ablaze, they decide it’s time to call Terry’s sister’s fire-loving boyfriend Chance for help. Meanwhile, Bryan’s acting career gets a boost, but he has to take extreme measures managing his anxiety.
