Once upon a time science fiction was less the stuff of stodgy bald captains riding around in floating living rooms, and more the stuff of a rainbow spitting rock and roll power ballad. I think that time was called the 80s, but whatever it was, it’s back thanks to one genius student studying at Denmark’s The Animation Workshop.
The following short film is the brainchild of Thorvaldur S. Gunnarsson, Jonatan Brüsch, Ágúst Kristinsson, Arna Snæbjørnsdottir, Esben J. Jespersen, Touraj Khosravi and Polina Bokhan. Those are long names with a lot of strange symbols in them, so maybe I’m better off just saying imagine of the band Wyld Stallions from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventures remade Thundercats. The result would be this piece of awesomeness…
I’m not really sure which is better: the animation or the lyrics. It’s all pretty brilliant but if like me you now find yourself unable to stop singing about the light of Mother Mustang, then you’ll probably want to pick up the soundtrack. It only costs $1.50 over here.
