Watch The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’s Awesome Bad Lip Reading

With The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1, or How I Learned to Stop Fighting and Love Woody Harrelson’s Hair is currently dominating the box office, it’s as good a time as any to look back on Katniss and Peeta’s previous adventures in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, only through the magical lens of the Bad Lip Reading guys. It’s totally post-apoca-lip-tic.
Much like that other young adult fantasy yarn Twilight, I find the Bad Lip Reading to be far more interesting than the actual Hunger Games sequel. I could easily spend two hours or so listening to faux Jennifer Lawrence thinking she’s in a castle, even if it was just that one scene between the two tributes and Haymitch looped repeatedly with different dialogue. That might be kind of hard to put together, but I’m not paying my hard-earned money to hear these guys phone it in. (I’m literally not paying anything to anyone, except to Effie Trinket for fashion advice.)
Maybe I’m easy, but one of my favorite things in the world is when these Bad Lip Readings dip into songs, so I’m as ecstatic as anyone that they seem to be heading in that direction more and more as the brand continues growing. After the awesomeness that was “Carl Poppa” from one of the Walking Dead vids, it seemed like it could only go downhill, but we get to hear a ditty about a plum and then witness the formation of Obsidiots, the Katniss/Peeta duo whose first video for their single “Choo Choo Go” can be seen below. You might want to cancel the rest of your afternoon’s plans.

The first portion of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay won the weekend with over $56 million, bringing its domestic total to $225 million, which means it has now made over $480 million worldwide, in less than two weeks. I guess we can expect to find that film’s Bad Lip Reading coming when Part 2 hits theaters next year. Uh uh oh, eh eh choo choo go.
