Watch The Avengers Celebrate Defeating Ultron In This Hilarious SNL Sketch

Avengers: Age of Ultron is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, probably the most anticipated after Star Wars: The Force Awakens. We still have to wait until May 1 to see it for ourselves, but if this Saturday Night Live sketch is legit (and I can’t imagine SNL would show us something that isn’t real, right?), we now know how it ends. With the Avengers partying hard.

Last time Earth’s Mightiest Heroes defeated an evil enemy and saved the world, they just went out for shawarma, which is pretty low key. They’re not making that mistake again. After destroying the nefarious Ultron, they are going to celebrate and celebrate big, you know, as much as you can celebrate among the ruins and wreckage of a broken city full of rubble.

I haven’t been a regular SNL watcher for a number of years, it’s just so wildly inconsistent watching an entire episode can be a chore, but they do occasionally throw out some gems, and this sketch from last night is one. Chris Hemsworth hosted and poked fun at his most famous character, Thor, playing up the dim bro side of his personality. I would definitely check out his sick podcast, how about you?

But like any good Marvel movie, even a parody of one, it’s rarely just one hero anymore, and many of Thor’s cronies show up. Iron Man gets a Tony Stark-esque joke, Captain America is serious and boring, but that Nick Fury Gatorade bath is an inspired moment. And the Hulk thinks he may have eaten a guy, though Thor tells him he ate a bunch of guys, which is crushing it indeed. You’ll definitely want to go lie down after that, digesting people can be tough.

In the actual movie, when Tony Stark tries to “create a suit of armor for the world,” his plan fails miserably, resulting in the nefarious AI Ultron who wreaks havoc on the world in a way only the Avengers can stop. Maybe. It’s going to be a rough go. Directed by Joss Whedon, Age of Ultron stars all of the usual suspects, including Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Stellan Skarsgard, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson, as well as franchise newcomers James Spader, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Paul Bettany.
