AMC is doing everything it can to remind folks that The Walking Dead returns in February. We previously let you know about a couple of preview clips from the next new episode that the network posted on its website, and now we have an official teaser trailer for the second half of the season that prominently highlights how fantastic newspaper critics have found this season:
So, what does this 30 second teaser tell us about the rest of the second season? Honestly, not a great deal. The trailer tries to remind viewers that The Walking Dead is action-packed by opening with rhythmic shots of principal cast members firing into the screen and including a shot of a tumbling, crashing car. Rick and Shane get into the physical altercation that’s been brewing since Rick’s return. As one of the preview clips previously released also suggests, Hershel appears to have lost his hope when he lost the walkers he had been trying to save. And, of course, there are lots of zombies ambling about, being taken down by the living, and gnawing at chain link fences.
There is one bit of the trailer that might interest fans of the comic, though. We get a quick glance at Rick’s son Carl wearing his dad’s hat and aiming a gun, and something about the expression on his face suggests that he isn’t engaged in simple shooting range exercises. Could it be that a long-delayed event in the comics will be occurring sometime later this season?
