The Walking Dead Slaughters The Soup

What did Walking Dead cast members Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Steven Yuen (Glenn) do with their summer vacations? Well, they spent at least part of it on the set of E!’s The Soup. When they’re not killing zombies for AMC, the duo apparently spends their free time massacring mindless zombies of another sort: the kind who spend far too much time watching reality television.

There are two things in this video that really make it worth a watch. First is host Joel McHale (Community) hanging out in the background, snapping photos with his smart phone as Reedus and Yuen slaughter his coworkers. McHale may come across as a smarmy jackass most of the time, but goddamn, the guy is funny as hell. His idiot grin is priceless. You also learn that the employees of the E! channel are not themselves actual zombies. They’re not, technically speaking, dead; they’re just dead inside.

The second highlight is Robert Kirkman, creator and writer of The Walking Dead comics. After he expresses his wish that he killed off both Daryl and Glenn last season, they part ways, with a blasé blast from Reedus’ shotgun.

Admittedly, this bit goes on much longer than it needs to. By the time they get to zombie Khloe Kardashian, you’re more than ready to be done, but all in all, this is worth a few minutes of your time. And I don’t really watch The Soup, so I’m not sure what’s up with the guy in the bikini, but you get the impression that’s a thing.

This is the second time Reedus and Yuen have popped on The Soup. Here’s a clip of their first visit below.

The Walking Dead returns for season three on Sunday, October 14th.
