WDeadWhat the hell happened to Carol?

Nothing in the last few episodes of The Walking Dead has been as quite as frustrating as the show’s reluctance to deal with the Carol situation. When Rick banished her for killing those two people, you were like, okay, shit just got real, and there’s going to be hell to pay for this decision. And then there wasn’t. The closest we got was a few episodes later when Rick finally tells Daryl (Norman Reedus), but then they get attacked and, again, nothing happens.

Out of all the characters in the show, none have made strides like Carol. She’s transitioned from a meek doormat that gets walked on, beaten up, and pushed around by everyone, to one of the most interesting characters. The fact that she was willing to use “story time” as a cover to teach children how to handle weapons and defend themselves—something her own daughter could have used in season two—illustrates how much progress she has made, how much she has changed. If she doesn’t show up before the end of the season, and if Rick and Daryl don’t have it out over the decision to force her out, that is going to be a huge dangling thread.
