New Walking Dead Promos Promise That Magic Combination Of Violence And Zombies

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. Or at least I’ve always heard that they say that. I don’t think I’ve ever heard that phrase used except when referring to a thing that they, whoever they are, say. What was I talking about again? Oh right, zombies.

The Walking Dead‘s third season premiere is a little over a month away, and the folks at AMC have unleashed two new promos that definitely believe in the power of images over words. In fact, there’s not a single line spoken in these two super-short teases, but that doesn’t make them any less effective at making us curse the days between now and October 14th. First up, a quick look at the perils of exploring dark, enclosed spaces during a zombie apocalypse:

See what I mean? No good is going to come from that. Wide open spaces are your friends, people. That and cardio. Lots and lots of cardio.

This second promo is called “Shivers,” and honestly it seems poorly named to me. Because while it does indeed promote a visceral reaction, shivering ain’t it. Warning: this one is semi-spoilery regarding the fate of one character last season, but it’s cut in such a way that you can tell what’s happening, but not really who it’s happening to. Still, best look away if you haven’t finished season two yet and don’t want to risk it.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 14th, now with 100% more Governor/Michonne goodness.
