Last week’s episode of The Walking Dead was basically an hour’s worth of the zombie drama working to set the stage for a wave of activity. The impending conflict between the survivors at the prison and the citizens of Woodbury has been simmering for some time now, but in the wake of the Governor’s (David Morrissey) sneak attack, the clash is now imminent. A significant part of the upcoming episode, “Clear,” is going to be occupied by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), his son Carl (Chandler Riggs), and the sword-wielding Michonne (Danai Gurira) out on a supply run.

A gallery of eight new images gives us a sneak peek at what this little road trip is going to look like come Sunday. It resembles a photo album of a nice family vacation, if your family vacations involve fighting swarms of undead walkers, rummaging through what looks like a graffiti-covered classroom, and scowling. Especially with Michonne involved, you know there’s going to be a lot of scowling.

The title of this episode presumably comes from the day-glow “clear” spray-painted on the walls of rooms to indicate that they’re free from zombies. Aside from that, these pictures don’t convey too much information. You get glimpses of a desolate, zombie-speckled town, and the three survivors wearing stern looks on their face.

Most interesting is what looks like a sniper or lookout on a rooftop. From Carl and Rick’s body language, it definitely appears that this armed guard has taken at least a shot or two at them. We’ll have to wait until Sunday, March 3rd to find out exactly what’s going on.
