Walking Dead Creator Robert Kirkman Takes A Tour Of West Central Prison

One of the most iconic settings from the graphic novel of The Walking Dead is the West Central Prison. It takes place early on in the story but it’s one of the most important turning points in the series. It’s when the reader fully understands that anything can happen at anytime and no one is safe in this post-apocalyptic world.
To gear up for season three of The Walking Dead, the graphic novel creator and TV series executive producer Robert Kirkman takes viewers on a tour of the prison location which will hopefully be the turning point in the TV series as it was in the graphic novel. Check out the video:
At first glance, a prison would seem like the safest place for survivors in a zombie apocalypse. It’s fortified, stocked with canned goods, and should contain an arsenal of guns and other weapons. You would just have to deal with the convicts and any other zombie pests that would find themselves inside. But The Walking Dead survivalist quickly found out that the convicts are the least of their problems.
When you read the comic book, the prison chapters get increasingly more chaotic as you turn the page. So hopefully the TV series can capture the same surprises and tension in the West Central Prison setting as it is in the graphic novel.
The Walking Dead season three will bring new additions to the cast including Danai Gurira as the fan-favorite Michonne, David Morrissey as the Governor, and the return of Michael Rooker as Merle Dixon. The Walking Dead season three will premiere on October 14th on AMC.
