One of the reasons why I love the Internet is that you know someone out there will take the time to create something completely different and unique. In this case, someone has made an epic supercut of every single robot transformation in all of the current Transformers movies. Check it out above!

While the Transformers film series has seen its fair share of highs and lows (mostly lows: Devastator’s balls), director Michael Bay has managed to make these movies giant spectacles and humongous event movies. It seems that the quality of these movies is secondary to watching cars transform into robots and robots transforming into jet planes. Love them or hate them, you have to admit that you haven’t seen anything quite like the Transformers film series in movies theaters.

My favorite transformation in the video is from the first Transformers movie. The scene happens at the end of the film when the Decepticons are trashing the city. Optimus Prime transforms from a semi-truck to his giant robot form, into a fighting stance. While Prime is transforming, Michael Bay shoots the Autobots’ leader in one of his signature camera moves, a low-angle 360-degree shot around the subject. It creates a great sense of anticipation and excitement that no other action director can capture in one kinetic shot. It’s fantastic! Bay has used this camera move in every one of his movies, so it seems very fitting that he uses it for Optimus Prime in a pivotal moment in the film.

YouTube user Tunglebrek is responsible for the impressive supercut. He’s made a few other supercuts, like how many times Tarzan swings into action in the Tarzan animated Disney movie, and a supercut video of dinosaurs dropping eggs. The Transformers video is by far Tunglebrek’s most impressive and longest. While the supercut is impressive, it doesn’t contain any transformations from the newest film, Transformers: Age of Extinction, because it’s not even out in theaters yet, let alone on home video.

As for Age of Extinction, this past Sunday, Paramount Pictures released the first teaser trailer for the fourth movie in the Transformers series during Super Bowl XLVIII. For many, including myself, it was the big winner when it came to movie teasers that premiered during the Big Game. Viewers around the world got a first glimpse at the film’s new cast and new Autobots, including the Dinobots Grimlock and Swoop. We also got a look at the Decepticon Cyclonus, as well as possibly Galvatron and the planet-sized Unicron.

Transformers 4 takes place in Chicago and centers on an inventor named Cade, his teenage daughter Tessa, and her boyfriend Shane, as they “discover a buried Transformer which sets the stage for the return of the rest of the Transformers.” The film stars Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Sophia Myles, T.J. Miller, Victoria Summer, Li Bingbing, Titus Welliver, Kelsey Grammer, and Peter Cullen. Transformers: Age of Extinction hits theaters everywhere on June 27, 2014, in 3D and IMAX.
