Let’s just put this out there right away…

Massive potential spoilers below!

There have been a number of leaks during the production of Transformers: Age of Extinction. You can go to Google right now and look up the term “Transformers 4 leaked” and see a whole list of leaked location photos and videos. It’s just the age we live in where camera phones and social media are ubiquitous to almost every person living in a large city. A recent video leak may have gone too far — it may reveal a major plot point of the Michael Bay-directed film (or at least the fate of a major character).

According to tfw2005.com, video of Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, and Nicola Peltz interacting with “Optimus Prime” has surfaced on the Internet. Of course, the human actors are interacting with nothing because the visual effects team will add the Autobot leader into the frame later. But you can clearly hear the voice of Peter Cullen, who has voiced Optimus Prime since 1984, in the video. Watch the leak below:

It’s a bit faint, but you can easily hear his voice. The video was shot at the West Kowloon Cultural District in Kowloon, Hong Kong over the weekend. Apparently, it was hard for the producers to get clearance from the Chinese government to shoot in this location, but after long consideration, China and Hong Kong allowed Michael Bay to film there. If you couldn’t make out what Optimus Prime was saying, read the transcription below:

There remains a price on my head, and i risk endangering you if i stay. Cade when you find the remaining stones, mark one as my soul. Defend this family Autobots, as they have you, goodbye, don’t forget me.

Apparently, Optimus Prime will be marked for death in Transformers: Age of Extinction. He put Cade’s (Mark Wahlberg) family in danger, so he’s forced to leave the planet. While it’s unclear where he will go, it’s believed that he will make his way to Cybertron, the homeworld of the Autobots and Decepticons. The rest of the Autobots will be left on Earth to protect the family, which has come into possession of Transformers’ stones. It seems that these stones will be the “MacGuffin” in Age of Extinction, just like the Allspark Cube was in the first Transformers trilogy.

Now, we don’t know if this is the ending of the film or just the ending of the film’s second act. Considering how long Michael Bay’s Transformers movies have gotten over the years, it’s easy to see how a plot point like this could still be resolved in a single movie. Nevertheless, watching the Autobots on the run from the Decepticons and Earth authorities will be very interesting to see next June.

Recently, new concept art for the Transformers toy line has leaked. It features an all-new design for Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. It also revealed what Grimlock, the Dinobot leader, will look like in the film. “Me Grimlock look good on big screen!”

Since the film recently wrapped in Hong Kong, and has started shooting in Mainland China, we should be seeing a teaser trailer soon. It’s believed that it might be attached to screenings of Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, which was recently pushed from Christmas 2013 to January 2014. Both Age of Extinction and Jack Ryan are from Paramount Pictures and are Lorenzo di Bonaventura productions, so it seems like a reasonable rumor.

Transformers: Age of Extinction features actors Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Sophia Myles, T.J. Miller, Victoria Summer, and Kelsey Grammer as CIA Agent Harold Attinger. Peter Cullen will reprise his role as the voice of Optimus Prime.

Transformers: Age of Extinction will hit theaters everywhere on June 27, 2014, in 3D and IMAX.
