grimlockThe New York Toy Fair 2014 is the best way to preview new science fiction movies through their toy lines. We’ve already seen toys and images from Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Wars: Rebels. While these properties were a comic book adaptation and a TV spinoff, respectively, you’ve also got a huge movie franchise out there based on a toy line: the Transformers. Now the Toy Fair is giving us a good look at the new Autobots and Decepticons that will be featured in Transformers: Age of Extinction, namely the Dinobots and the film’s main villain, Galvatron.

The images below features the Dinobots in action. We see what Grimlock will look like as a T-Rex and as a robot. It seems like the Dinobots’ leader will have a bo staff for his weapon of choice, and we also get a first look at Slash, a Transformer velociraptor. Hopefully it won’t be long before we get a better look at the other Dinobots: Slag, Sludge, Snarl, Swoop, and Paddles, an Elasmosaurus.

The images from ScreenRant and Topless Robot also feature new additions to the Autobots — Hound, Drift, and Jetfire — and new Decepticons — Lockdown, Stinger, and Motomaster. The Decepticons’ new leader is also revealed as Galvatron, who is a resurrected version Megatron. We also get classic Transformers with Bumblebee and Optimus Prime.

Elsewhere, the film’s official Facebook page recently changed their banner header to concept art of Optimus Prime riding Grimlock in T-Rex form. When Age of Extinction‘s first teaser was released during Super Bowl XLVIII, Optimus Prime riding Grimlock was one of the most talked-about things from the TV spot. It seems that Paramount and Hasbro will be capitalizing on the image throughout Age of Extinction‘s marketing campaign. Does this make the Transformers Creationists?

Meanwhile, it was rumored that the new trailer for Age of Extinction would drop sometime in March. It’s believed that the trailer might screen in front of Warner Bros.’ action film 300: Rise of an Empire, which hits theaters on March 7, or Darren Aronofsky’s newest film Noah for Paramount Pictures. The Biblical epic opens nationwide on March 28, so expect to watch the first teaser trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction sometime next month.

As for the film itself, a plot description of Transformers 4 has surfaced online. The details include the movie featuring the U.S. Government building their own Transformers based on technology found in the rubble in Chicago after the epic battle at the end of Dark of the Moon, and how the character Cade Yaeger (Mark Wahlberg) and his family become the center of the new trilogy. The description also points to the film’s newest addition, the Decepticon Lockdown, as a bounty hunter in pursuit of Optimus Prime and the remaining Autobots on Earth. It’s likely that Paramount will release more plot details before Age of Extinction is released this summer.

Transformers 4 stars Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Sophia Myles, T.J. Miller, Victoria Summer, Li Bingbing, Titus Welliver, Kelsey Grammer, and Peter Cullen. Transformers: Age of Extinction hits theaters everywhere on June 27, 2014, in 3D and IMAX.
