We’re one step closer to getting that gritty and violent Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game we’ve been waiting to play. One of the most moddable video games out there has to be Grand Theft Auto IV. We have seen so many user-made iterations of the car-based video game from Rockstar Games including Back To The Future and Star Wars (R2-D2 and Millennium Falcon versions) that it was only a matter of time before we saw our favorite Heroes In A Half-Shell running amuck in a big giant urban landscape.

YouTube user and Grand Theft Auto-fan wapeddell created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game mod above. While the video does not feature a lot of thrilling action, it showcases the possibilities of playing as Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo. It is a shame though, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would never use machine guns or harm innocent people, but it is all in the general spirit and good fun of the video game Grand Theft Auto IV.

Wapeddell used the title “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Not Directed by Michael Bay” for the YouTube video, which is funny because perhaps this is the version of our sewer buddies that some fans want to see on the big screen. Do we really want to watch the Dark Knight version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?

There have been many iterations of the Heroes In A Half-Shell starting all the way back in the late 80s with the original Nintendo Entertainment System, but this Grand Theft Auto IV has got to be the one of the more fun versions to play or even watch.

Wapeddell made the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Grand Theft Auto IV mod available for download.
