Star Wars Scarecrows Win The Halloween Battle Hands Down

This is absolutely brilliant. When you think of massive, sprawling lawn decorations and holidays, you generally think of Christmas. You know, giant plastic Santas, a herd of flying reindeer, flashing multicolored light bulbs stapled to every last surface. Halloween, however, is a close second. Not only does this celebration give children the chance to go house to house, begging for candy in disguise, but it also gives the spookier among us a chance to indulge our dark sides and deck the halls in an entirely different way.

One Star Wars enthusiast took this to heart and created one of the most badass lawn displays you’ll ever come across. Staying true to holiday standards, this exhibit has all of your favorites from a galaxy far, far away, rendered as hay-stuffed scarecrows. Incredibly inventive and inordinately detailed, there’s Luke dueling Vader, Han being Han, Leia, R2 and C-3PO, a stormtrooper, Jabba the Hutt, and even Yoda and the Emperor.

Out of all of these, the high point has to be how they handled the lightning bolts shooting out of the Emperor’s hands. There’s even a Death Star and a TIE Fighter. This may look like a massive fire hazard (don’t you just want to flick a match or a lit cigarette at Jabba and watch that bastard burn?), but you can’t help but admire the initiative and patience it took to design and craft a setup like this.

Hands down, this household wins the prize for best Halloween decorations, for this year and maybe every year to come.
