The fifth season of the 3D animated reboot of Star Wars: The Clone Wars teaser trailer hit the Internet. The trailer is full of actions and space battles and continues the saga between Attack of the Clones and The Revenge of the Sith.

We get an idea of where the fifth season is heading before getting into The Revenge of the Sith. George Lucas once said that he’d like to get at least 100 episodes worth of Clone Wars episodes before calling it quits for the series. Each season has 22 episodes and the 100th episode will come in the middle of season five, making the series 110 episodes long.

The story line of the Confederacy of Independent Systems led by the Jedi Knights trying to take back the planet Alderaan from the evil Separatists’ Droid Army. We get a clear impression of how the Rebel Alliance will form under the guidance of the Jedi Knights. Also the continuing battle between the Jedi and the Sith escalate as Darth Maul and, as he calls him “this Sith pretender,” Count Dukoo begin to battle each other for Sith power.

I love this trailer! It has a fantastic feeling to it. It reminds me of the Inception and Prometheus trailers, with its pulse-stopping score and frenetic action sequences, which fits the overall tone of Star Wars: The Clone Wars series. It’s always interesting to see what other writers and artists can do in George Lucas’ Star Wars universe. There is no word on when season five of The Clone Wars will start but it will be sometime Fall 2012. Stay tuned for our continuing coverage.
