BridgeWith J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness set to hit theaters next week, it’s safe to say that the film is dominating the pop-culture landscape when it comes to Trek talk. But whether you love or hate Abrams’ take on Gene Roddenberry’s iconic science fiction universe, there’s still plenty of Trek history to celebrate. Now a new traveling exhibition will bring a cool little slice of Trek-dom to your neck of the woods…assuming your neck of the woods is San Diego, Los Angeles, or Phoenix, Arizona.

Star Trek: The Exhibition has just been announced, a show that will be hitting up county/state fairs beginning this June. The exhibition will let fans peruse a collection of Trek memorabilia including the bridge from Star Trek: The Original Series (that’s awesome!), Dr. Crusher’s sick bay from Next Gen (that’s pretty cool!), and the Scorpion fighter from Star Trek: Nemesis (that’s, uh…that’s something). It will also have a timeline wall, interactive kiosks, and a photo opp with Kirk’s captain’s chair. Sadly, no holodeck.

Star Trek: The Exhibition will launch at the San Diego County Fair from June 8th to July 7th, and you can get more info right here. Next it moves to the Los Angeles County fair from August 30th to September 29th (info here). Finally, it will wind up at the Arizona State Fair from October 11th to November 3rd (info here). At the moment there are no other dates, so I’m not sure if this is for sure limited to those three locations, or if it might expand to more later on. Otherwise those not living in California or Arizona will have to stick to pretending they’re starship captains inside the simulator in my garage.

Their garage, I mean. Theirs. Not mine.
