New Star Trek Into Darkness Images Show Off Arched Eyebrows

It’s just under two months until Star Trek Into Darkness crashes into theaters nationwide, and even though the initial brunt of the publicity got passed off to Star Wars Episode VII when Abrams signed on as director, this is definitely one of the most anticipated films of the year. Now they’ve released two new images via the Star Trek Into Darkness app.

The pictures are indeed just the sort of thing you’d expect a studio to release late on a Tuesday night. Who needs stills of mostly CGI special effects when we’ve got real-life human beings who can stare forward with equal amounts of anger and pensiveness? What do you think Spock and Kirk are looking at?

Perhaps they’re reading the inevitable Mad Magazine spoof Star Drek Into Dorkness. Whatever it is, it looks like a slightly less offensive version of whatever Benedict Cumberbatch’s evil villain is looking at. You could feasibly crack a pecan with the furrow atop the bridge of his nose.

It pretty much sums up how I feel when I look at a calendar and realize it’s still March. Star Trek Into Darkness will release in IMAX theaters on May 15th, before going wide on May 17th, though it’s being released in the UK on May 9th. I think it has something to do with John Harrison and his neck-covering jacket.
