We are now only five short months away before the release of Star Trek Into Darkness. To build anticipation and excitement for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot sequel, Paramount Pictures released new images of the motion picture. It feels like the closer we get to its May release date, Paramount will start to release more information about the upcoming movie. Check out the high-resolution images below.

A few weeks ago, British Magazine Empire released a few images of Star Trek Into Darkness with two exclusive covers featuring Chris Pine as Captain Kirk and Benedict Cumberbatch as the evil John Harrison. While the images above are similar, there are a few different ones in the lot like Captain Kirk and Dr. Carol Marcus (Alice Eve) sharing a moment. Also, we can never have enough images of Zoe Saldana as a badass Uhura and we now have clear images of Kirk and Spock’s Federation standard sideburns!

A few weeks ago, Paramount released the first teaser trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness along with the Japanese International teaser trailer. If you were lucky enough to catch Star Trek Into Darkness’ first nine minutes before IMAX screenings of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey then you could see how a space-suited Spock fits in with the fiery lava backdrop.

It feels like Paramount will release another batch of Star Trek Into Darkness images soon because it appears that other members of the Starship Enterprise are missing from these images including Dr. McCoy (Karl Urban), Chekov (Anton Yelchin), and Sulu (John Cho). So look forward to these images when Paramount will release them in the near future.

Star Trek Into Darkness will open in theaters everywhere on May 17th 2013 in IMAX 3D.
