That’s a wrap! Principal photography on Ender’s Game has come to an end. To share the production’s excitement with the end of principal photography, producer Roberto Orci posted his thoughts and highlights Art Direction and Production Design team, Ben Procter and Sean Haworth, on the film’s official on-set tumblr blog. Orci describes the duo as a mixture of strong illustrators with the ability to build physical sets.

First though the Ender’s Game is showing off new photos. Here’s a gate, no way to tell if it’s down…

As Ben Procter describes the look and feel of the film…

“We tried to imbue the spaces and vehicles with a gritty, engineered realism that would help sell the seriousness of the training our hero kids are going through. The visual style of the Formics, on the other hand, needed to be both exotic and beautiful to represent a society not deserving of extinction.”

Roberto Orci also highlights a warning, “Warning: Null G Beyond This Line.” Is this the entrance to the zero gravity battle room? It sure looks like it…

Procter describes what it felt like to visualize the classic novel by Orson Scott Card this way…

“Fans of the book will hopefully recognize what they’ve been imagining for years, but also be impressed with the level of detail. And as a fan, you have an actual emotional reaction finally seeing the Zero-G action you’ve always visualized.”

Orci ends the blog post with a fond “farewell,” but teases Ender’s Game fans with a “for now.” Maybe we’ll see more post-production blog entries from the producers.

Ender’s Game will feature Asa Butterfield, Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis, Ben Kingsley and Harrison Ford. Expect it in theaters on November 1st 2013.
