Here’s something you probably didn’t expect to hear when you crawled out of bed this morning: Roseanne Barr is going to join the cast of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The comedian, and former national anthem strangler, will lend her voice to the character of Kraaang Prime on the season finale when the Nickelodeon show wraps up later this year.

According to TV Guide, Barr lands amidst a cast that already includes Kelly Hu (X2), Goonies alums Corey Feldman and Sean Astin, and Cassandra Peterson, better known to the world as Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. That’s something of an all-star cast in my sad little world. Hu will play an antagonistic teen , and budding ninja, named Karai, who shows up and causes some problems for the turtles. Elvira is set to play a scientist from the World Wide Genome Project, one that takes an unhealthy interest in the turtles’ sidekick, April O’Neil.

At the moment, there are no details about Barr’s character, or what role it will play in the story. The Kraang, however, are an alien race, the ones responsible for bringing the mutagen that helped the heroes in a half shell fulfill their potential. Shaped like brains in a jar, they roll up in giant robot suits, stirring up all kinds of trouble.

It’s nice to see Barr getting work after her failed 2012 bid for the presidency, and while she certainly makes for a shrill, terrifying villain, I’m not sure I could sit through an entire episode of that voice. She’s just so grating.
