ZeroDarkWith the upcoming fourth installment in the Jurassic Park film series starting production this June, we still don’t know who will play the male leading role. Back in September Bryce Dallas Howard was cast in Jurassic World, while Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson were cast to play her would-be movie sons. Now it seems that Bryce’s father, director Ron Howard, has spilled the beans about who will play opposite his daughter in Jurassic World: Parks and Recreation/Guardians of the Galaxy actor Chris Pratt.

During last Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony in Los Angeles, Ron Howard tweeted an image featuring his daughter Bryce with Pratt. The tweet read, “Bryce and Chris meet for the 1st time on red carpet they will be co-stars in next Juraissic. [sic]” While it hasn’t been made official yet from Universal, it appears that Pratt will star in the new Jurassic World movie. If cast in the film, Pratt would play the father role in the family at the center of Jurassic World, although character info has yet to be made available.

Pratt confirmed he was in talks for the film last month. With Pratt also starring in this February’s LEGO Movie and August’s Guardians of the Galaxy for Marvel Studios, as well having an important tole in 2012’s Zero Dark Thirty, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before the 34-year-old actor will leave Parks and Recreation for bigger roles in blockbuster productions. According to Pratt’s Guardians director, James Gunn, the actor is going to be a big star in Hollywood, with the charisma and talent to be a true leading man.

In other Jurassic World news, actor Sam Neill recently said he would not appear in Jurassic World for director Colin Trevorrow. Neill, of course, played Dr. Alan Grant in the original Jurassic Park, and he also reprised the role in Jurassic Park III.

Jurassic World takes place some 20 years after the events of the original movie. The new film is rumored to take place at a fully operational water theme park featuring various aquatic dinosaurs. The name Jurassic World is said to mirror the popular SeaWorld water parks in that respect. The story is said to involve a new aquatic dinosaur being introduced to the park, but soon breaking free and wreaking havoc.

In addition to directing the film, Trevorrow also co-wrote the screenplay with his writing partner, Derek Connolly (Safety Not Guaranteed), working from Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver’s (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) original screenplay. Frank Marshall and Steven Spielberg will produce Jurassic World, whereas producer Kathleen Kennedy dropped out to focus her attention on Lucasfilm and the production of Star Wars: Episode VII, which opens in December 2015.

Jurassic World hits theaters everywhere on June 12, 2015, in 3D and IMAX.
