Oman Naim’s futuristic 2004 thriller The Final Cut was another against-type role for Williams, who played a man skilled in splicing together the memories of the recently deceased, for use in a memorial ceremony. It works as a fine double feature with Christopher Nolan’s less-celebrated thriller Insomnia.
