Slowly but sure we’re getting there. And by “there” I mean we’re now less than three weeks away from the return of NBC’s post-blackout drama Revolution. With the show on extended hiatus since the end of November for a retooling and to shoot more episodes, NBC has been doing what it can to keep attention on their highest-rated freshman show in years. One tool in their arsenal has been a pair of web offerings, one animated, one featuring regulars from the show. The second episode in the Revolution: Enemies of the State series, a live-action prequel, just debuted online, and here it is for your viewing pleasure.

Taking place four years before the main show, the action follows Captain Neville (Giancarlo Esposito) as he attempts to track down Miles Matheson (Billy Burke) after his attempt to assassinate the leader of the Monroe Militia, and his former BFF, Sebastian Monroe (David Lyons).

We pick up with Neville at a cathouse, seemingly there to unwind after a stressful day on the job. He expounds on the difficulties of chasing things and people who don’t want to be found, and, an insurance adjuster before the power went out, he somehow still finds himself stuck in middle management. But now that there’s a vacancy at the top, he’s going to do what he has to in order to make the job his.

By now we know Neville is much more devious than this, he’s always working an angle, and tonight is no exception. Again we witness his aptitude for reading people as he pumps the prostitute for information. Why was Miles at the brothel since he apparently had no interest in the ladies there? Who was he meeting? We’ll have to wait for the answers to these and more questions in future episodes.

Revolution returns on Monday, March 25th.
