Paul W.S. Anderson and company will keep pumping out Resident Evil movies until there’s not a single fan last left in to see them in the theaters. And that will be a while, because I will go to see Milla Jovovich slaughter monsters any time they want to throw that onto a screen. They have a formula. It is simple, and effective. The fifth installment in the videogame-based franchise, Resident Evil: Retribution, invades theaters in 3D September 14th, and Screen Gems has released a new banner.

The whole premise is supposed to be a play on Alice in Wonderland, boasting the tagline “Alice in Wasteland.” It’s a stretch, to be sure, but hey, the main character’s name is Alice, so it was only a matter of time before they made this move.

This poster finds Jovovich in her usual pose in these films, clad in a tight black bodysuit, holding a pair of big guns. That in a nutshell epitomizes what Resident Evil movies are all about: a pretty woman with lots of firepower. Alice, heavily armed, strolls between the wrecked hulls of Umbrella Corporation ships and submarines, ready for whatever creatures come her way.

Retribution is a who’s who of previous Resident Evil movies. The cast features a number of familiar faces from the earlier installments, including Michelle Rodriguez, Oded Fehr, Sienna Guillory, Shawn Roberts, and many more. Alice and company cross the globe—from Moscow to Tokyo—hunting those responsible for unleashing the deadly T-virus, kicking the crap out of zombies every step of the way.
