The apocalypse is always such a downer, isn’t it? Civilization collapses, everyone you care about dies, and those who remain have a generally unpleasant time. The End of the World, Seth Rogan’s co-directorial debut with Superbad writing partner Evan Goldberg, looks to bring some much needed levity to Armageddon. The film is an apocalyptic comedy based on a short Rogan made with fellow Canadian Jay Baruchel. And judging by the first photos from the set he’s bringing along all his famous buddies as well.
Currently filming in New Orleans, The End of the World apparently features everyone Rogan has ever been in a movie with ever, and then some. There’s Rogan, Jason Segel, Jonah Hill, Rihanna, Aziz Ansari, Emma Watson, James Franco, Paul Rudd, and Michael Cera hitting on Rihanna. And that’s just in three pictures. Kevin Hart and David Krumholtz are also slated to appear, though they don’t pop up here.
The main cast of characters includes Rogan, Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson. Out of nowhere, during a celebrity-heavy rager at Franco’s house, bam, apocalypse. Not everyone from this guest-list survives, and the leftovers have to fend for themselves in the aftermath.
Even the end of the world, however, isn’t going to stop Cera’s game, nor will it cause Segel to drop his beer. Alcohol is going to be especially precious after the end of days.
And while there’s no word on the type of cataclysmic event, whatever it is leads to some dry heaving, so maybe it’s gross.
