With only one month till its release date, Oblivion will kick off an avalanche of science fiction films that are coming out this year, including Star Trek Into Darkness, Pacific Rim, and After Earth. Director Joseph Kosinski’s follow-up to his debut film, Tron: Legacy, will surely be an action-packed thrill ride. To get audiences ready for Oblivion, Universal Studios has released a new featurette consisting of cast and crew interviews, and a closer look at what we’ll see in the new movie. Watch the featurette below:

The future world in Oblivion looks like it’s full of imagination and vision. There’s a good contrast between the aftermath of a ruined Earth and the future technology of the clean service station above the clouds. There’s still a mystery about Oblivion that seems to be evident in almost every piece of promotional material released. Hopefully, the real twist of the movie will not be ruined by the film’s trailers and featurettes.

Taking place in the distant future, Oblivion is set in the aftermath of a bloody and ferocious war between humans and alien invaders. Tom Cruise plays a blue-collar drone mechanic named Jack Harper who is stationed on the abandoned Earth. When Jack rescues a beautiful and mysterious woman named Julia (Olga Kurylenko) after a terrible crash landing, his world comes untangled as he is confronted with the truth behind the war. Jack becomes the key to saving the world from uncertain doom.

Oblivion will also feature Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Melissa Leo, and Zoë Bell. Joseph Kosinski wrote the screenplay with writers William Monahan (The Departed) and Michael Arndt (Star Wars: Episode VII).

Oblivion will hit theaters everywhere on April 12th, in IMAX.
