We still have a long while before its summer 2014 release date, but casting for Transformers 4 is now in full swing. A few weeks ago, Mark Wahlberg was cast in the new Michael Bay film, and now Nicola Peltz and Brenton Thwaites have been cast to play Wahlberg’s daughter and her boyfriend, respectively.

According to Twitch, Peltz (The Last Airbender) is set to play Mark Wahlberg’s teenage daughter, who will most likely be in some sort of Transformer-related danger. Australian Brenton Thwaites (the upcoming Maleficent) will play her racecar-driving boyfriend, who most likely will have a Transformer racecar as a vehicle. This sounds like a step up from Shia LaBeouf’s Sam Witwicky character, who was a… umyeah.

Nicola Peltz played Katara in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender. While the film was mostly forgettable, being featured in a Transformers movie will be a considerable upgrade for her acting career. Brenton Thwaites has appeared in numerous Australian soap operas and will be making his American feature film debut in the upcoming Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie as the evil queen from Sleeping Beauty. Mark Wahlberg will be returning to work with Micheal Bay after co-starring in the upcoming action/comedy Pain and Gain with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The new film will feature an all-new cast of actors and Transformers. Hasbro expressed interest in having new Transformers brought in because the previous film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, was considered a failure for the toy company. They didn’t sell as many Transformers toys as projected.

Transformers 4 will hit theaters everywhere on June 29, 2014.
