Sci-fi-speed-dating-logoHey nerds, are you single and looking for love? Do you want to find that special someone to curl up with and watch the original Star Wars trilogy back-to-back-to-back with, or maybe marathon classic episodes of Doctor Who? If so, what are you doing March 1st and 2nd of 2013? Should you happen to be in the Pacific Northwest, specifically Seattle, and happen to be at the Emerald City Comicon, then you should look into Sci-Fi Speed Dating. And yes, that is exactly what it sounds like.

The Con debuted the event in 2012, and it was such an overwhelming success that the organizers decided to bring it back for an encore. There will be two installments, one on Friday, one on Saturday, and best of all, the whole thing is free. Space is limited, but you can easily sign up HERE on their website. Just click the Register button, and you’re halfway home to a healthy, fulfilling love life.

There are a couple of rules, but as far as regulations go, they’re simple ones. First is, you must be 18 years old in order to participate. Sorry kids, not this year. But don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time in your life for romance and heartbreak and all the things that come with dating.

Rule number two is one of those parameters that shouldn’t have to be mentioned, one that shouldn’t be an issue, but you know somewhere along the line some dumbass had to go and screw things up for everybody. You must be single. Seriously, they don’t want any unnecessary drama, and you don’t want to be that guy, do you?

Who knows, maybe you’ll find the cosplay partner of your dreams.
