Neil GaimanComi cbook icon, screenwriter extraordinaire, celebrated novelist, and general renaissance man when it comes to writing, Neil Gaiman scripted his first episode for the BBC’s long-running sci-fi drama Doctor Who back in 2011. The people seemed to like the episode, entitled “The Doctor’s Wife,” so much that they’ve been clamoring for more ever since. Hell, it won Hugo Award after all.

We’ve known that Gaiman had written his script for a second episode, called “Nightmare in Silver,” which is set to air on May 11th. Aside from that, and that it involves the Cybermen, not much else was known about episode. Now the official synopsis for the episode has finally been released, and it appears that The Doctor (Matt Smith) and his lovely sidekick, Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman), will find themselves in quite a pickle. Check it out for yourself.

Hedgewick’s World of Wonders was once the greatest theme park in the galaxy, but it’s now the dilapidated home to a shabby showman, a chess-playing dwarf and a dysfunctional army platoon.

When the Doctor, Clara, Artie and Angie arrive, the last thing they expect is the re-emergence of one of the Doctor’s oldest foes. The Cybermen are back!

That sounds like damn fine time, and given Gaiman’s track record, Whovians the world over have high expectations for “Nightmare in Silver.” The episode also co-stars Willow himself, Warrick Davis, and will be the penultimate episode of season seven. An episode titled “The Name of the Doctor” will wrap up the season, and potentially smooth the transition into the highly anticipated 50th Anniversary Special, set for later this year.

Are you excited for “Nightmare in Silver?” Do you think it will live up to the hype, or “The Doctor’s Wife?”
