Damn those Nazis, always stirring up trouble wherever they go. Which includes invading the Earth from a secret base hidden on the dark side of the moon. Iron Sky, the action/science fiction/comedy from director Timo Vuorensola, has been making the rounds at festivals, and now has a new US trailer.
In the waning days of World War II a group of Nazis escaped certain death, imprisonment, and war crimes tribunals by fleeing. They didn’t run to Argentina or someplace like that, they went really far, and fled to the moon. For 70 years they have waited, studying Earth’s lifestyles, preparing for the day when they can invade and install their master race at the top of the food chain. And that day is now.
This concept is a ridiculous as it is brilliant. When the gigantic armada of flying saucers invades, the fate of humanity is in the hands of an ambitious, Sarah Palin-looking president who revels in the opportunity to play hero and get reelected.
Iron Sky stars Julia Dietze, Christopher Kirby, Peta Sergeant, and Udo Kier. If you want to arrange an Iron Sky invasion in your town you can do just that through Tugg. Tugg is a distribution service that lets you vote on what movies you want to see in your town. You can schedule a screening of a particular movie, and if enough people buy tickets, a print will show up and everyone gets to see the film.
