When fandom and creativity combine you get some pretty amazing results. Just walk the floor of any convention and you’ll see intricately detailed costumes and props, stuff that looks like it’s been yanked right off the screen. Some fan projects, however, require more of a commitment than others. And while you might have seen some impressive bits of creative geekery over the years, you’ve probably never seen a 10-foot-long, 900 lb. Millennium Falcon replica made out of car parts.
The bad news is, if the Falcon has set your inner fanboy a’drooiling, this baby is not for sale. The good news is, you can still visit it and see it up close and personal. The model, in all its vaguely steampunk glory, is currently hanging from the ceiling of Ripley’s Odditorium in Williamsburg, Virginia. Given the whole 900 lbs thing, if you’re planning on stealing it, you’re going to need a seriously impressive Ocean’s 11 style gang. Or just a strong command of the Force.
