Opening on May 25th, MIB III sees Will Smith’s Agent J traveling back to the 1960s to stop an alien from pulling a John Connor and killing a younger version of Agent K. The bad guy in question is being played by Flight of the Conchords‘ Jemaine Clement, and you can see his look in these new shots. There’s not a lot of context provided, but I’m speculating that the hot evil chick (Nicole Scherzinger, in the role of “Lily Poison”) is breaking Boris (Clement) out of some sort of prison. I’m betting the delicious cake is involved in some MIB spin on the old “hide a file in a cake” chestnut.
That could all be entirely wrong, of course, but my guess is as good as yours. Check out the shots…

I’m kind of surprised that we’re getting a Men in Black III. Not just because it’s been a decade since the last one, and not just because Will Smith isn’t quite the box office draw he once was. No, I’m surprised by the simple fact that they’re putting out a third one as opposed to rebooting the franchise entirely. That’d be a lot more in keeping with Hollywood’s recent track record, after all. Of course, it is a time travel story, where they’re introducing a young version of Tommy Lee Jones’ character, Agent K, played by Josh Brolin. Maybe they’ll team him up with a young version of Will Smith’s character…Boom! Reboot! They could even have young J played by Jaden Smith. Hollywood, I’ll assume my check is in the mail.
