It’s been a hectic few months for Bioware, the company behind one of my favorite game series of all time, the Mass Effect trilogy. If you follow gaming news, you will recall that many fans were unsatisfied with the ending to Mass Effect 3 when it hit back in March, arguing that parts of it were illogical and that it robbed the player’s choices of any real importance by instead serving up three variations on the same ending. After a lot of controversy, debate, and — to be honest — entitled whining on the part of some gamers, Bioware decided to release a new ending as free DLC, one which would retain the gist of the ending while expanding on how the player’s choices shaped the galaxy in the aftermath. Now the Extended Cut DLC is out and stirring up a whole new round of arguments, but either way Bioware isn’t done with Mass Effect 3. Bioware has said that they have more DLC planned for the game, and now some clever fans have uncovered hints as to what some of that DLC may consist of.

Warning: Huge Spoilers for Possible ME3 DLC

The hints were uncovered within the code for the newly released Extended Cut, and point to a future DLC entitled “Leviathan.” You can read the code over at Pastebin, which includes dialogue, new codex entries, and pretty much the entire storyline for the DLC, which centers around a Reaper named — you guessed it — Leviathan.

According to the retrieved information, Leviathan is a Reaper who went rogue and killed one of his own kind at some point in the past. He has indoctrinated the workers at a mining facility, and Shepard and his crewmates will come up against him while on a mission to rescue a scientist named Ann Bryson from the facility. Supposedly if you make the right choices, you will be able to add Leviathan to your War Assets.

There’s no release date for the Leviathan DLC yet since it hasn’t, you know, actually been announced yet. We’ll keep you posted when there’s more to know. In the meantime, if you haven’t downloaded the Extended Cut and want to spoil the new endings for yourself, you can watch them here.
